Jeanne Shawahin
brings to the industry a wealth of experience ranging from that
of a paralegal, real estate processor, real estate post closer
and settlement agent, serving as the Office Manager for two prominent
Maryland Title Companies, a licensed real estate title agent since
1998. A licensed title agent in Maryland, Virginia, and the District
of Columbia, Ms. Shawahin pursues continuing education to remain
up-to-date on the jurisdictional, financial, and regulatory issues
that can affect settlements. She presently serves on the
Convention Committee for the 5th successive year and for the first
time in 2006 will serve on the Education Committee for the Maryland
Land Title Association. Ms. Shawahin earned her Associate of Business
degree in Management and Development from Monroe Community College,
received paralegal certification from the University of Georgia,
and has completed the application for the designation of a Certified
Land Title Professional by the Maryland Land Title Association. |

Eileen Bennett
is a settlement processor with 30 years experience in Maryland
residential real estate. A graduate of Washington Business
School in 1976, Ms. Bennett was employed by a Rockville law firm
for 16 years, during which time she worked with two attorneys on
all legal files and real estate transactions. Ms. Bennett
then worked for a large title company in the Washington Metropolitan
Area for 14 years, where she not only processed in excess of 8,000
real estate transactions, but also assisted with administrative
and post closing duties and was the company’s Training Director
for two years and was responsible for training employees on a variety
of computer software programs. Ms. Bennett currently holds
and maintains her Maryland title insurance agent license. With
her variety of experience in real estate, she is able to assist
all parties to a transaction and ensure they receive top quality
service, whether they are the purchaser, seller, borrower or lender
in the transaction. |
